die variety

A coin that can be linked to a given set of dies because of characteristics possessed by those dies and imparted to the coin at the time it was struck. It remains a numismatic field understudied in Cuban numismatics, with the exception of the SOUVENIR coinage of 1897, which Mr. Emilio Ortiz studied and reported in detail.
